I think it's time to quite. Tonight was a joke and I can't do it any more. It's only going to get worse. The restaurant is going downhill and like a rat on a sinking ship, I know when it's time to get off.
On an unrelated matter, is anyone hiring?

The worst thing in the world.
Guys Choice 2008.
Not be confused with Degrassi: The Musical. Which is the greatest.

You can call if you want to.
The new Sigur Ros comes out on Tuesday, even though you could stream and download the album from their website, I AM INCREDIBLY STOKED FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. The new Wolf Parade also came out recently and is quite stellar.
I saw Ladyhawk and The Constantines on Thursday and was quite good, despite being alone in 100+ person crowd surrounded by the hipster elite of the city and lots of very pretty people. Also, Lacey from Corner Gas was there and it was weird. I forgot how much The Constantines rock. They played like a 80 minute set of just rock and it was quite nice. But the sound guy fucked up Ladyhawk's mix and kind of killed it for me. People should not have to adjust their own levels on the amps, and still have the vocals be way to quiet and the guitars way too loud. But that's just me, though I think most people there would have agreed. I never really thought of people having their favourite band be The Constantines for some reason, but there were most certainly some of those people there. They all had that string tied around there hair...does anyone understand this? If yes, please explain.
Somehow I ended up in the park drinking coffee with quintessential stoners this after afternoon and it was a weird experience. They fit the stereotype so perfectly it kind of hurt. They were entertaining to watch either way.
How were the albums I posted? Yay, nay?

I'm amazed at how they go.
There will be no sleep tonight. I finished work around 1:30 and I have a Morning Show to do in about...3 and half hours. The morning show is three hours long. Hurrah! I kind of jumped on the opportunity though, even though I knew I'd be at work that late. It's a good step and if the General Manager likes me then it could equal good things for Matt. Like concert tickets and stuff. And yea.
The Constantines and Ladyhawk are tomorrow and NOT Hot Panda. I got it in my head that it was on the same night, not 100% sure how. But alas. I might get some sleep tomorrow then.
I think I want to work in a coffee shop.
Thoughts on the new format? Yay, nay?

Links and too much music. Caution! Nudities.
Over the past few days, mainly because I've found a new music blog I have been downloading like a machine whose sole purpose is to download things. After I finished BSG (!!!) I don't have that much to do. So in the past week I have added 35 albums and EPs to my computer. This may as well be a juke box. But without further ado, after a solid two hours of upload time, here are your links.
(I had some time so here are the album covers as well)
Chris Ganeau- Music For Tourists

Frightened Rabbit- The Midnight Organ Fight

Born Ruffians- Red, Yellow & Blue

Throw Me The Statue- Moonbeams

Fleet Foxes- Fleet Foxes

The Wooden Sky- When Lost At Sea

Why? messed up. I'll post it later.
If you like what you hear, spend money and let people eat.

Things to download.
These are some things that I suggest Clair (or anyone) should download. I can post mediafire links later if you want.
Music For Tourists by Chirs Ganeau. Really enjoyable, pretty somber folk in the vein of an Elliot Smith of Sufjan Stevens.
The Midnight Organ Fight by Frightened Rabbit. Awesome Scottish rock. Like a less intense Twilight Sad. Also more mandolin.
Red, Yellow and Blue by Born Ruffians. Some of the funnest upbeat indie rock you'll hear in awhile. Combine Wilco, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Animal Collective and Los Campensinos! and that's roughly what you'll get. Also, it's pretty much the epitome of the three piece band.
Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes is one of my favourite albums from this year. Very nice alt-country folk with almost a gospel feel to the vocals at times.
Moonbeams by Throw Me The Statue. Glorious Seattle indie pop-rock. The only thing to connect one song from another on the album is the level of awesome and the singers voice.
When Lost At Sea by The Wooden Sky is delightful alt-country that frequently features a melotron or glockenspiel. Seriously. 'Nuff said.
Elephant Eyelash by Why? is pretty much the epitome of the Anti-Con record label. Nasal white-guy Ireallycan'tdefineibutindie-hopcomesclosest at it's finest.
That's it for now! More later.

You must be a masochist to love a modern leper on his last leg.
This evening I saw show! I haven't been to one in over a month (Buck 65 and Cadence Weapon) but tonight I busted that cycle. I saw Devon Floyd the lead singer of The Two Minute Miracles and Wax Mannequin. All were really great and funny and raw and awesome. I bought cds so they could pay for gas and if I had room would have told them they could sleep on my floor and eat my food.
The shows coming up are The Constantines with Ladyhawk and City and Colour. And of course Folk Fest in August. Hopefully some more people will deign to come here in the next few months.
I'm about to start the third season of Battlestar Galactica, and HOLY SHIT. The show went in a completely different direction than I expected and my oh my it has the most second actiest second act around.
The other night I had a dream I was listening to a 50's jazz song by a women I think was named Edita. The song I heard was one I had never heard before and had never heard of the person. It included a last.fm blurb and everything, it was weird and awesome. This happened like the day after I read Kenzie's blog about pretty much the same thing. Was my brain just emulating what I read and kind of wanted to happen, or was it collective unconscious working it's magic!
So, I'm watching So You Think You Can Dance, because I like it, and a guy danced to a Chris Garneau song and it made me happy.
Oh uhm, people and things that are awesome
The fact that Chief Tyrrel always calls lieutenants 'LT'
The book The Time Traveler's Wife
The giant Feist poster I bought for 7$ and the awesome vinyl I got for a dollar a piece
The Scottish band Frightened Rabbit
The Wooden Sky formerly known as Friday Morning's Regret
The album from Thoa and the Get Down Stay Downs
The sublime Chris Garneau
The new Cloud Cult album
The movie In Brouges
The mii I made that looks like God and is named GOD!
The mii I made called jesus.
The glass of Alexander Keith's finest India Pale Ale I was given after a grueling nine hour shift in front of a 700 degree pizza oven in which I made at least 50 over the course of 4 hours

Foxes mate for life because they love eachother.
Somehow I ended up at JD's to tonight. After seeing the parodies of worldwide cultures and making jokes I was ready for bed around 11. Well, by bed I mean I'd watch my last two BSG episodes and go to bed. These plans were interrupted when I sent a text message to Cecilia saying have a good night, I'd come out if I literally had more than a loonie to my name. However, she said she's pay and I wanted to say goodbye to Selene so I went! And it was exactly what I thought it would be. To give you an example, four random guys and girls were chosen from the crowd. The guys were told to sit in a chair, spread eagle while the girls using only their knees tried to give them "visible wood". I cried on the inside a little bit. The night proceeded in a predictable fashion and I drove people home and all is well and good. A funny thing happened before everything else. I sent a text message to what I thought was Cecilia's number but turned out to be someone completely different and random, but we had a nice little text conversation. It was kind of delightful. Not as delightful and tiny dancing Ukrainian girls though.

They look like us now.
I'm about four episodes into the second season of battlestar gallactica, and I'm pretty much hooked. My brain is struggling to keep up with all the allusions and connections to various mythologies. Hopefully all shall be revealed, and if not I'll buy that book called "Battlestar Gallactica and Philosophy", which there seems to be an abundance of, yet no Kant or Decartes.
Anyways, it's been a month and half and I don't know what to write that you don't all already know.
My bike got stolen
My average was shit
I need a new job, I think
I've found lots of good movies, music and books and somehow don't have time for any of them
I want to start writing again, but I need motivation or some sort of goal thing. Suggestions are welcome.
I'm going to start posting my radio playlists
Une Annee Sans Lumiere- The Arcade Fire
Gobbledigook- Sigur Ros
The Infanta- The Decemberists
Grass- Animal Collective
It's 5!- Architecture in Helsinki
Devestation- The Besnard Lakes
Baroque Social- Broken Social Scene
Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?- She & Him
If Only Your Heart Was A Major Sixth- The Hylozoists
It's Gonna Rain- Do Make Say Think
Our Hell- Emily Haines & The Soft Skeletons
Horse and I by Bat For Lashes
You Can't Hurry Love- The Concretes
Welcome To The Overground- Badly Drawn Boy
I'll Follow You Into The Dark- Amy Millan
Unless It's Kicks- Okkervil River
I forgot my playlists for the burnt CD's I made, and if I hadn't the show would have been very different.
I'm currently listening to Cloud Cult for the first time, and they are awesome. Speaking of awesome things in music. Sigur Ros are releasing a new full album at the end of June and I am super stoked. The first track and video can be found here. Another really great song that I've found recently is Faking the Books. If you want a non-tube-you quality version I can link you.
The Friday line-up for Folk Fest is fracking ridiculous.
It would seem I've started saying frack.
I'll try to keep posting regularly.
