I told myself that at 2:00 p.m. I would start to revise the trainwreck that is my Richard III essay and hopefully bring it up to a 70%. This has been causing me a lot of stress and loss of sleep. The irony is that I had so much stuff to do that I got so worried abut it I never got to it and it's just terrible. The other ironic thing is that I forgot I had an assignment due on Tuesday that I wrote in about an hour and will probably get 100% on and it didn't phase me! My English prof. terrifies me, she destroyed me on this essay. Times up. Time to write.
One hour later:
That did not go well. I kind of just had a break down, everything I wrote seemed contrived and empty and frustrated me. I'm going to save my sanity or any hopes of ever writing this thing by watching some Scrubs and work on tomorrow and Wednesday. Zach Braff, bring on the sardonic and physical humour.

You went out with your best sweater on and you have every intention of dancing till dawn.
That is the first line of the favourite Casiotone For The Painfully Alone song of a Scottish internet girl I kind of know. The next time I'm in Edinburgh, we're going to go to a concert. I wanted to say "go dancing" because it sounded better, but it would be a lie.
Good bye travelers! You shall be missed, no fun shall be had I swear.
I had the least productive four days. I did nothing, this is partly because of laziness but also due to MIND DESTROYING MIGRAINES AND LUNG DISLODGING COUGHS. Needless to say it was unfortunate. I did however watch a lot of the office and play pokemon, both things always make me feel better.
Things That Should Have Gotten Accomplished This Weekend But Were Not:
1. Read all of From Russia With Love
2. Read at least half of The Talented Mr. Rippley (I did watch the movie, but that is beside the point).
3. Study Religious Studies
4. Read Electoral Reform articles
5. Read other Poli Sci things
6. Read Soc book.
7. Write Electoral Reform article
8. Revise my terrible Richard III essay
I think my migraine might have been partially due to stress....I can't imagine why...either way I'm better (somewhat) now. I just need it to be the end of April.
I found out coffee shop girl works at the skateboard desk in West 49. This makes her seem even more unattainable.
I've started painting again, I like it. If you ever want to paint with me, let me know, it's more fun with other people and less "bleeding heart artisty". And I promise, tea, incense, and instrumental music are optional. Discussion about the Mother Tree however, is not. Oh and there must be one reference about how the "mainstream culture just doesn't you/art".
Hive five racial pride!
This hodge podge of a blog is done now.

We Want Our Film To Be Beautiful, Not Realistic
I've been listening to a lot of Of Montreal lately after I went on a spree and downloaded four of their albums. I agree with Clair in their springy-ness and how lovely it is. I also really like the bass riffs and multi-layered vocals.
Instead of following what my prof is saying, I'm writing this to say how in support of Proportional Representation. Man am I ever.
Also, I kind of has a crisis when I got a 48% on the Richard III paper I wrote. This is my fault, my writing was good but I refused to answer the question directly and sat on the fence. I felt kind of shattered and began questioning my university career, the 63% I got on my Poli. Sci. midterm isn't helping either. Gah I have two midterms tomorrow and I really want to go see Polymaths and Said The Whale tonight. I know my stuff though and keeping sane and having some fun is more important than a few percentage points I think.
My prof. just said "the German System" and I could only think of "The Beak System".
If you don't already read Achewood and Perry Bible Fellowship. They are two of the smartest webcomics I've ever come across.

Things That Happened Today That Were Not Expected
-Train a new dishwasher
-He wasn't an idiot
-Find out I really the band Elf Power
-Be trained on line
-Be told I'm going to continue to work the line
-Get free beer
-Not make a complete fool of myself
-Yet still manage to deep fry my fingers
-Have it confirmed from multiple sources that I should serve during the Summer
-Impress people and hopefully change their view of me
-Still be awake and not at all tired.

Things I Did Today
-Fall and injure my knee on a post midnight walk, it still hurts.
-Sleep, some.
-Become depressed by the earning statistics in Canada

-Perfectly time my bus arrival
-Read the magazine Broken Pencil and find out that I know nothing about a lot of indie culture, but a lot about webcomics
Things I Will Do
-Was hundreds upon hundreds of dishes
-Make Jokes
-Make other jokes that aren't funny

Alas, I cannot sleep
I did not sleep Friday night. This is because of a multitude of reason, but what is important that no sleep was had. And a little more than none was had on Saturday night. Today was a write off, I slept till noon and spent the rest of day writing a Religious Studies paper that will maybe yield a 70%. Work was a joke, however it most often is. I need to get of the city, my aura is tired and weary, it feels like I am wearing someone else coat, to borrow from Douglas Coupland. The semester is almost over, and hopefully by then, I will not be for tired. Spring is in the air, and it is fantastic.

Band name idea.
Instead of paying attention in class today I thought up a band name. It'll be called The Electoral Colleges. The debut album will be called "Sorry Al Gore". The follow up will be "Thanks Geb, You're Welcome George", the third will be "Sorry America" and the final album before the band dissolves from within will be called "Sorry, The World"

I'm just a science fiction kid like you.
Having the schedule I do, I was able to par-take in an interesting survey today. It involved looking at 50 or so pictures and answering questions using the pictures and then explaining a little bit of the meaning behind your choice. It took an interesting turn when I had to choose the picture that I thought best described God. It was hard to do, because I had a feeling they would ask me that and had already formulated my answer and then scrambled to find a picture to describe it. Anyways. The survey was interesting, but following conversation afterwards was even more so. I've never been one to shy away from a discussion like this, and was pleasantly suprised to find the two people doing the survey interesting and fairly open minded. There was a mutual respect I think, and that rarely happens when I get involved in these situations. No one was trying to prove anything, no salvation was offered and it was refreshing.
On a related topic, where should I go to church this weekend? One Christian and one non!

What did 70$ get me?
40 shots of Polaroid, that's what. It's apperently going fast so, I'll see if there is any left by the time I feel comfortable dropping more money on film.
I think that's it. Yep. Oh yea, I need to go to two religious services this weekend. Help?

What about Stacey?
I'm trying to figure out a way to get Hot Tubbin' by Ashkon on my show...be sure to listen for it. It will most likely be a 'cold open'. Can you have cold opens on the Radio? Ya da ya mean?
Instead of writing arguing for or against Richard, Duke of Gloucester being a tragic or anti hero instead of a pure villain. I spent my day listening to old episodes of Jordan, Jesse, Go! and Glutton for Punishment on the Food Network. Also apparently Tele Miracle is still a thing, that is in fact still popular. I always remember the female support hosts that fill in whenever Bob is off being resurrected by a series of doctors and magicians, being incredibly horrid. The ones with cowboy hats and 'trendy' hair cuts are especially insufferable.
Did you know that red wine champaign is a thing? This is easily the classiest thing imaginable.
I recently watched Margot at the Wedding the newest movie from Noah Baumbach. If you're not familiar with his work (co-writing The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and writing and directing The Squid and the Whale, among others) I suggest checking out what he's done. This is of course you're a fan of naked, dark, character based humour and some of the most uncomfortable scenes you've ever seen on film. Margot at the Wedding is definitely and distinctly a second movie. He made his mark and defined exactly what he likes to do with The Squid and The Whale and he seems to be holding onto that. I think it was executed and presented better, more polished. The acting was superb and Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Jason Leigh played excellently off of each other. I was worried about Jack Black, but there was no Jack Blacking around he stepped up the role and made it his without going over board. There might not have been Jeff Daniels with a beard and no Laura Linney, but outstanding acting. I think it warrants another watching soon to absorb everything. Because like most things I like, the characters are fully developed from the get go and you're thrown into the thick of things. I almost find it hard to watch those movies where they take you by the hand and say this is this and that is that. But they try and hide and those conventions are become so tired and worn out. The only scenarios like that that I've enjoyed were The Magnificent Ambersons and The Royal Tannenbaums. Wes Anderson said he used The Magnificent Ambersons as inspiration. Which you have to admit, is rather complex on both accounts.
This is what I needed, get the creative juices flowing.
Oh yea, check out the Grand Archives, they are fantastic and have released one of my favourite albums so far this year (there have been a suprising amount, that link is for a full download of the album). And if there are things you think should be / want to hear played on my show, tell me.
And quick run down of my favourite shows:
1. Final Fantasy in 2006
2. Feist at the 2006 Folk Festival
3. Final Fantasy in 2007
4. Matt Mays in 2007
5. Holy Fuck in 2007
I'm sure that if I had been able to see Do Make Say Think, The New Pornographers, Wolf Parade, Stars in February of 2006 and others that I for some reason missed, they would probably be right up there.
